Ritual Committee Mission

The Ritual Committee is the "spiritual pulse of Temple Brith Achim." As such, in discussion with the Rabbi, we help determine and implement the ritual policy of the congregation, inform and inspire our congregants to deeper religious observance and promote such practices in our synagogue and in our homes which will enhance the values of Jewish living. The committee discusses issues and problems and acts autonomously on some issues and makes recommendations to the Board of Trustees on others.

Presently the committee has about twelve members which cover a variety of ages and religious backgrounds, who are deeply interested in the content and style of religious services and practices at Temple Brith Achim.

The scope of the Committee's work covers policies regarding:

·          Services (weekly and holiday)
·          Use of the sanctuaries
·          Rabbi Officiation
·          Ritual philosophy of the Congregation
·          B'nai Mitzvah

The Ritual Committee meets the third Thursday of the month at 7:30 PM in the library. Won't you come and join us on this important committee and be a leader in the spiritual life of our congregation? In fact during the next year we will be exploring the possibility of adopting a new prayer book and would appreciate having new voices heard in the discussion.
