Learning at the ECLC at Brith Achim is enriched by the integration of the Judaic and secular curricula. We promote each
child’s development physically, intellectually, socially and spiritually in a safe, nurturing and stimulating environment. We encourage each child’s development of:

 Positive self-esteem
 Independence and responsibility
 Social skills
 Fine & gross motor skills
 Verbal communication
 Reading and writing readiness
 Ability to problem-solve
 Understanding of the world and their place in it
 Conception of numbers and computation
 Sense of belonging to the classroom community
 Creativity and self-expression
 Sense of values
 Eagerness to celebrate Jewish holidays, rituals & customs

Underlying all of this, we seek to instill the foundation of a positive, meaningful Jewish identity and to nurture a love of Judaism that will inspire them to live Jewish lives. In order to accomplish this goal, Jewish concepts, values and traditions are integrally woven into every aspect of the Nursery School curriculum. While Shabbat and holiday celebrations are eagerly anticipated and a highlight of the program, we strive to make Judaism a part of every day by incorporating it into the daily routine.

At the ECLC at Temple Brith Achim, our dedicated teachers provide students with a wide range of activities and experiences that will encourage them to explore and discover themselves and the world around them. Children learn through play, active manipulation of materials in their environment and through interaction with others. Children are innately curious and will be encouraged to follow their interests and seek answers. Children will be encouraged to ask questions and hypothesize answers. Teachers are sensitive to each child’s individual needs and learning styles and will help each child maximize his/her potential. While emphasis and focus on each child is central, the teacher will work to build a sense of community ion the classroom.

Parents are critical partners in the success of our program. Parent participation is encouraged and welcome and communication between home and school must be free flowing at all times.
