Alicia Svigals, composer/violinist and founder of the Grammy winning Klezmatics will present a benefit concert on May 4, 2019 7: 30 PM at Shannondell in Audubon, PA.

Proceeds to benefit Powell School for Life Long Jewish Learning at Temple Brith Achim.

Alicia co-directed the Klezmatics for seventeen years. She has written for and collaborated with as a performer, violinist Itzhak Perlman, the Kronos Quartet, playwright Tony Kushner, documentary filmmaker Judith Helhand, poet Allen Ginsburg, Robert Plant and Jimmy Page of Led Zeppelin and many others. She has appeared on David Letterman, MTV, Good Morning America , PBS Great Performances , NPR's Prairie Home Companion and Weekend Edition and New Sounds.

Svigals was awarded the Foundation for Jewish Culture's annual New Music Network Music Commission for her original score for the 1918 film the Yellow Ticket. In 2018, Flicker Alley released a DVD of the 1923 film Ancient law with her original score. She is currently touring internationally and it was recently performed at the National Museum of American Jewish History in Philadelphia.
