The observance of Yahrzeit is a sacred mark of reverence for the departed and imparts a dimension of sanctity to our lives. Keeping the name and memory of loved ones alive in our hearts is an integral part of Judaism. Our noble tradition also enjoins us to kindle a memorial candle at home, to recite Kaddish at Temple Services, and to make a memorial offering to the Synagogue.
Purchasing a memorial plaque for display in our sanctuary is a wonderful opportunity to further honor the memory of a loved one. Each plaque contains the English name of the loved one and both the secular and Hebrew date of death. These plaques are permanently on display on the beautiful Yahrzeit boards in our Sanctuary. The week of the Yahrzeit of your loved one, the plaque will be temporarily placed on the lighted Yahrzeit board to signify their Yahrzeit anniversary date.
Please consider honoring the anniversary of the passing of a loved one by purchasing a memorial Yahrzeit plaque for permanent display in our Sanctuary. Memorializing your loved one in a place of ongoing Jewish life and learning is a beautiful way to honor their memory. Plaques may be purchased for a $400 donation payable to Temple Brith Achim either using the online order form on the right or a printable form which may be mailed in to the Temple office.
